This public sculpture was commissioned by the US Forest Service and sponsored by the Pacific Gas Transmission company. The trout forms are of cast iron, and the central cairn is assembled from both sedimentary and igneous rocks from the region. Installed at a Moyie River access site in the northern Idaho Panhandle National Forest, the work uses ecological and geological themes with hopes of inviting the visitor to be an active participant in the enchanting place. For more information on its making, see the process area of this site.
